Who is the data controller?
With Shaking Hands is a sole trader art and poetry platform based in the Lake District. For data queries, contact hello@withshakinghands.co.uk.
What data I collect
When you make a purchase, I collect your name, delivery address, and email address. Payment information is processed securely by Squarespace and is not stored by me.
When you sign up to the newsletter, I collect your email address.
When you contact me by email, your name and email address are stored in my email client.
My website may collect anonymised usage data via cookies, including pages visited and time spent on the site.
Why I collect it and the legal basis for doing so
I collect purchase information to fulfil your order and handle any queries or returns. The legal basis is contractual necessity.
I collect newsletter email addresses to send you updates about new work, poems, and platform news. The legal basis is your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.
I collect contact enquiry data to respond to you. The legal basis is legitimate interest.
How your data is stored and shared
Your data is stored securely. I do not sell, lease, or share your personal information with third parties except where necessary to fulfil your order (for example, passing your delivery address to the print supplier) or where required by law.
Payment processing is handled securely by Stripe. Your payment details are processed directly by Strip and are not stored by With Shaking Hands. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to that element of any transaction.
Print fulfilment is handled by Prodigi. Your name and delivery address are passed to them solely for the purpose of fulfilling your order.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the data I hold about you, request correction or deletion, withdraw consent at any time, and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
