Rage Roar Rise
Acrylic on canvas, 2026. The first piece made under With Shaking Hands. Bold, political, unapologetic. Built from rage and hope in equal measure. The title says everything. Rage at the systems that grind women down. The roar that comes when you stop being quiet about it. And the rise, because that’s what we do. Below you’ll see the process from first marks to finished canvas, beginning to end. Giclée fine art prints available in the shop.

In the making. Head down, marker in hand, the outline work that turns chaos into something you can read from across a room.
The beginning. Not my image, not my story- yet. A charity shop canvas that belonged to someone else's world before I painted it out and made it mine.
The foundation. Layers of chaos built up over days, using palette knife marks, splatter, object prints, colour on colour. Everything that lives underneath.
The Intention. Three words traced in pencil onto the chaos. Rage. Roar. Rise. The moment it knew what it was going to be.
The Structure. Bold blue painted behind where the letters would live. The architecture of the piece taking shape.
First coat of pink. Translucent, uncertain, finding its way onto the canvas for the first time.
Second coat. The pink getting bolder, more itself, more confident.
Third coat. The colour finally saying what it needed to say. Hot pink. Unapologetic. Exactly right.
The outline. Black Posca marker going around every letter, making the whole thing snap into focus. This is the moment it became a finished piece of art.
The gold. Two dripping hearts flanking ROAR, outlined in gold. The sweetness melting. The Live Laugh Love subversion made complete.
